We have a network of blacksmiths and pastors around the country who are trained according to federal safety regulations and who are equipped with the necessary tools to decommission guns. Gun Donation Details

We will arrange a time and place that is convenient to meet you, and we will bring the equipment to decommission the gun(s). We often do this in a public place such as a church or in a parking lot. It takes about 5-10 minutes per gun.

The gun(s) will never leave your supervision as the licensed owner, and no gun should be brought over state lines prior to being disabled.
We will document the decommissioning of the gun for our records, and invite you to do the same. We ask that you bring the gun unloaded and locked, if possible. After we have cut the gun according to legal guidelines, it is no longer considered a firearm, and will never be operable again, nor fall under gun regulation.

What we create from the gun will be made available on our website or given away to victims of gun violence. Proceeds from the sale of RAW Tools products are shared with groups working to prevent suicide and gun violence, as well as our non-profit organization and national network of blacksmiths.

As a way of saying thank you, we are glad to provide you with a tool or other life-giving piece of art from our website in return for donating your guns. In some instances, like when the donated gun has had a specific meaning or been connected to personal trauma or life-changing circumstances, we are glad to talk with you about what we can make from your specific gun(s) for you or your family. In cases of a gun give-back, gun buy-back, or a large donation of multiple guns, we will talk with you about how we might also offer a short program or service around the decommissioning of the guns. Please feel free to invite any friends who are gun-owners to donate as well.
